Day 3 afternoon

Finals of Day 3 at the World Series in Lignano Sabbiadoro with final race.
Ready, Go and….a new Italian JR record on the women’s 100m backstroke. Great swim by Gaia Mercurio who gets the fifth position with the new record time of 1’29”18.
On the men’s 100 backstroke Italian ace Simone Barlaam reaches the second step of the podium with a time of 01’01″93 behind the Brazilian Gabriel Bandeira and ahead of the Danish Alexander Hillhouse.
New Italian record and bronze medal for Xenia Francesca Palazzo who swims the women’s 100m backstroke in 01’20″21.
On the Men’s 50m butterfly Dos Santos Araujo Gabriel Geraldo (Brazil) grabs the gold in 55″97, ahead of Rojas Cabrera Alejandro Yared (Spain) and Jadhav Suyash Narayan (India).
Whole podium for Italy on the women’s 50m butterfly: Gold for Giulia Terzi with 34″72, Silver for Giulia Ghiretti with 48″44 and bronze for Arianna Talamona with 46″25.
Carlotta Gilli gets another gold to enrich the Italian medal table with a convincing performance on the 200m individual medley stopping the clock at 2’27″88. Silver for the Dutch Lisa Kruger and bronze for her teammates Lisette Bruinsma.
In the last event of Day 3 the Mexican Mixed 4×100 freestyle relay get the Gold medal.
